We awoke to low temperatures but the sun was in the sky and over the day it became "tropical" for the inter-regionals.

In the Championships 

  • Round 1 v Great Western - 2 wins minus 29
  • Round 2 v Heart of England  - 2 wins  minus 21
  • Round 3 v Yorkshire - 3 wins  minus 23
  • Round 4 v  Eastern - 2  wins minus 26
  • Round 5 v Suffolk Coastal - 2 wins minus 26
  • Round 7 v Sussex 3 - wins minus 22
  • Round 8 v Central - 3 wins  minus 8


In the Challenge

  • Round 1 v Scotland - 1 win minus 12
  • Round 2 v Combined - 2 wins minus 6
  • Round 3 v Sussex - 1 win minus 18
  • Round 4 v Yorkshire - 2 wins minus 9
  • Round 5 v Devon - 2 wins plus 2

Sunday

Again awoke to a brisk but sunny day

In the Championship

  • Round 8 v Heart of England - 2 wins minus 51
  • Round 9 v Suffolk Coastal - 4 wins minus 6
  • Round 10 v Eastern - 4 wins plus 8
  • Round 11 v Central - 2 wins minus 28
  • Round 12 v Great Western - 5 wins plus 38


In the Challenge

  • Round 8 v Scotland -  zero wins minus 45
  • Round 9 v Yorkshire - zero wins minus 21
  • Round 10 v Combined - 2 wins plus 1
  • Round 11 v Devon - 4 wins plus 27
  • Round 12 v Sussex - zero wins minus 27



Over all results

In the Championship

34 wins (out of 96 games) minus 194

Sadly Thames Valley came in last place (8th) but as they say the results did not always match the standard of play.


In the Challenge

18 wins (out of 48 games)  minus 112

Again Thames Valley were at the bottom end of the table in 7th position


However for all those that attended it was a very enjoyable weekend of pétanque, meeting old friends and generally socialising and the sun helped.


Next year, well lets see what we can do between now and then
